Breaking News:Swifties Celebrate Their ‘Engagement Era’ After Proposal at Madrid Eras Tour

Some couples dream of getting engaged while traveling abroad or visiting the spot where they had their first date, but not Swifties–they would rather get down on one knee and propose at a Taylor Swift concert. During the European leg of the 14-time Grammy winner’s international Eras tour, one couple decided that Swift’s show in Madrid would be the perfect spot to say, “You belong with me…forever.”

The lovebirds shared a video online, sweetly documenting the entire experience from start to finish. In fact, the now-viral TikTok began with footage from a previous Swift concert, showing the couple jamming along to the pop superstar’s hit “Love Story.” Above the brief clip was text which read, “Hace un año,” or “One year ago.” “Not me waiting for my boyfriend to propose during ‘Love Story,'” the statement continued.

The video then cut to a more recent clip of the couple attending one of Swift’s Eras tour shows in Madrid as she performed the same song. Text on the screen read “Hoy,” which means “today” in Spanish. While one of them recorded themselves singing along to the song, the other could be seen getting down on one knee and whipping out a box. The video then cuts to different angles of the proposal as the couple meets each other on the floor, overwhelmed with emotion, before embracing one another. Though the 34-year-old artist didn’t publicly react to the news, plenty of other Swifties poured into the comments with love and congratulatory remarks. The international leg of the Eras tour has seen its fair share of engagements, as earlier this year, a fan in Melbourne was pleasantly surprised by a perfectly-timed proposal to the same song, while another in Portugal live-streamed hers–and those are just the engagements to go viral! Imagine the number of Swifties who prefer to keep their relationship updates more private.
