Galatasaray has officially announced the permanent signing of Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea. The Turkish giants confirmed that the obligation to buy clause, which was triggered months ago, has now been finalized on the club’s side, securing Ziyech’s services for the foreseeable future.

Ziyech’s journey with Chelsea began when he made his league debut on 17 October 2020, coming off the bench in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Southampton at Stamford Bridge. His impact was immediate and memorable, as he scored his first goal for the Blues on 28 October 2020, during a commanding 4-0 away victory over Krasnodar on matchday two of the Champions League.

One of Ziyech’s standout moments came on 17 April 2021, when he scored the decisive goal in Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City, leading his team to the final. Although he did not play in the 2021 UEFA Champions League Final on 29 May, Ziyech was part of the squad that secured a historic 1-0 victory over Manchester City, earning him the honor of becoming the third Moroccan to win the prestigious competition, following in the footsteps of Munir and Achraf Hakimi.

On 19 August 2023, Süper Lig side Galatasaray announced Ziyech’s arrival in Istanbul, signaling the start of a new chapter in his career. The following day, 20 August 2023, Ziyech completed a season-long loan move to Galatasaray, which included an obligation to make the transfer permanent. This clause has now been fulfilled, and Galatasaray fans can look forward to seeing Ziyech don the club’s colors for the upcoming seasons.
