Breaking News:All Fans check in : Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager Make Relatable Confession About Taylor Swift’s Song ‘Fortnight’

The two ‘Today’ hosts analyzed Swift’s new album.

Like so many other people, Today anchors Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager discussed singer Taylor Swift’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department, on Monday’s show, with the women making a possibly embarrassing admission related to Swift’s lead song, “Fortnight.”

The song was brought up as the women talked about who Swift might’ve written “Fortnight” about, considering both her longtime ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy, whom she dated for a few weeks.

During the conversation, Bush Hager sheepishly said, “Because a fortnight… I have to tell you, I wasn’t caught up on my old English so I didn’t know that a fortnight was two weeks!” Instead, Bush Hager thought that a fortnight meant four nights.

This led Kotb to reveal her own confusion, asking the crew if a fortnight was really “10 days or two weeks.” They finally settled the case, confirming that a fortnight means two weeks.

The confusion is understandable, and Bush Hager had a similar blunder at the start of the conversation when she accidentally called the album “The Tortured Poets Society.”

Kotb quickly corrected her, leading Bush Hager to apologize and jokingly swear that she listened to the album. The confusion likely stemmed from the similarity between the album’s title and the title of the movie Dead Poets Society, which came out in 1989.

Throughout the segment, the co-hosts also talked about how obsessed their kids are with the new album. Bush Hager noted that her daughter Mila went to a sleepover where they “listened and analyzed every song.”

Thankfully, this meant Mila was an expert, and she gave her mother a guide of sorts, recommending tracks and sharing her thoughts about the meaning. In particular, Mila told Bush Hager to listen to the track “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys,” the third song on the album.
