Breaking News:Brad Pitt Struggles with Shiloh Jolie-Pitt’s Decision to Drop ‘Pitt’
Last week, it was announced that Shiloh, the daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, recently filed a court request to legally change her last name from Jolie-Pitt to Jolie. In addition to Shiloh, Brad and Angelina have five other children: Maddox, 22; Pax, 20; Zahara, 19; Knox, 15; and Vivienne, 15.
While Shiloh is the first to legally file for a name change, she is seemingly not the only one among her siblings who has attempted to drop “Pitt” from her last name. Last month, Vivienne was listed as Vivienne Jolie instead of Vivienne Jolie-Pitt on a poster for the new musical “The Outsiders,” in which she was a co-producer alongside her mother.
Similarly, in 2023, 19-year-old Zahara joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College and was recorded introducing herself to the audience as Zahara Marley Jolie. These apparent attempts by the girls to publicly distance themselves from their father come after years of rumors suggesting that Brad’s relationship with his children has been strained following his divorce from Angelina.
It is believed that the separation was triggered by an alleged incident on a private plane involving the couple and their children, which occurred five days before Angelina filed for divorce.
Brad was accused of physically assaulting their son Maddox, who was 15 years old at the time. The actor denied all accusations against him, and after the incident was investigated by child protection officials, he was cleared of any wrongdoing. The FBI subsequently decided that further investigation was unnecessary, although Angelina reportedly tried to challenge this decision with additional lawsuits.
Neither Brad nor Angelina has publicly commented on Shiloh’s decision to change her last name, although a report now claims that her father is “aware and upset” about this move. “He is aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name,” an anonymous source told People on June 3. “He never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter.”
Claiming that the apparent distance from his children hurts him, the source continued: “Reminders that he has lost his children are, of course, not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad.”
While it is important to acknowledge that these quotes are anonymously submitted, social media users have expressed confusion over the claim that Shiloh’s birth made Brad happy because he “always wanted a daughter,” pointing out that he and Angelina adopted Zahara in 2005, before Shiloh was born.
Zahara was already there when Shiloh was born. So the statement “always wanted a daughter” about Shiloh is faulty and rather cruel,” wrote one person on the social network X in criticism of the mentioned claims.
“Mind you, he already had a daughter before Shiloh was born,” added another user in response to the quotes, garnering over 120,000 likes.
According to a report by Entertainment Tonight, Angelina “cannot speak” about Shiloh’s name change because her daughter has taken the legal proceedings into her own hands.
