Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton captivated the audience at the 2024 ACM Awards on Thursday night, May 16, further proving they are truly couple goals.

The couple performed their song “Purple Irises” at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, charming the crowd with their playful interactions and undeniable chemistry, staring into each other’s eyes while they sang. Stefani, 54, dazzled in a sparkling purple jumpsuit adorned with a large flower decoration extending from her neck to her thighs. Shelton, 47, opted for a more casual look with his signature button-up shirt, black blazer, and jeans. The stage was beautifully decorated with purple irises, and a stained-glass portrait of the flowers illuminated the couple as they delivered an electrifying performance.

The lyrics of “Purple Irises” struck a chord with the audience: “But if someone comes along and tries to love you like I love you / Don’t know what I’d do, don’t wanna lose you,” they sang. Stefani continued, “Everything fades, everything dies / Put me in a vase, but you can’t / You can’t stop time … It’s not 1999 / But this face is still mine / The way you look at me / I swear my heart hits rewind.”

Prior to their performance, Stefani and Shelton walked the red carpet hand-in-hand. Their on-stage performance earned a standing ovation and praise from both the live audience and viewers at home. Fans were quick to leave comments on a video shared by the official ACM Awards X account (formerly known as Twitter), saying things like, “One of the best performances tonight,” and “Best part of the ACM Awards was Beautiful Gwen and Her Handsome Husband Blake.”
