Breaking News:Palace Confirms Kate Middleton’s Absence at Upcoming Major Royal Event
The Palace has confirmed that Princess Catherine of Wales will be skipping an upcoming event that fans hoped she’d attend.
One week before the UK’s annual military parade, known as Trooping the Colour, there’s an event called the Colonel’s Review. Since the Princess bares the title of Colonel in Chief of the Irish Guards, she’d normally attend as the Inspecting Officer.
Kensington Palace confirmed to NBC News that she would not be partaking in this event, and instead, Lieutenant General James Bucknall, KCB, CBE would be carrying out her duties for her.
The Colonel’s Review will take place on June 8, and Trooping the Colour will take place on June 15. It’s unclear if Princess Kate will attend the parade on the 15th.
If you don’t know, in March of 2024, the 42-year-old royal announced she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing preventative chemotherapy. This has caused her to step away from the public eye for several months.
