Taylor Swift’s first Eras Tour concert of 2024 almost went off without a hitch.
The now 14-time Grammy winner kicked things off again in Tokyo on Wednesday night after having two months off — yet she seemed to still be shaking off a little bit of rust.
During her steamy performance of “Vigilante S—t,” the singer — who straddles and dances on a chair during the number — miscalculated the distance to her seat as she went to sit back down.
In a video posted to X, Swift looked momentarily shocked as she sat back only to find out that the seat wasn’t behind her.
Despite hovering mid-air, Swift didn’t lose her balance as she remained in a squat position while reaching a hand back to steady herself.
Being the seasoned professional that she is, the “Karma” singer swiftly readjusted and didn’t miss a beat as she continued singing for the sold-out crowd of 55,000.
Many of her fans were quick to point out that the 34-year-old’s intense three-hour training routine seemed to pay off.
“she’s been doing her squats bc i would’ve fallen right on my ass,” one person wrote alongside the clip.
“her thighs probably so strong that she could sit like that without the chair for the whole song,” another agreed.
A third speculated that the “Cruel Summer” singer “must have accidentally pushed [the chair] just a little further back with her heels.”
In addition to the chair mishap, Swift also messed up a few of the lyrics from “Dear Reader” during the surprise song section of the night.
“These restless tears of a cursed man,” Swift sang during the bridge, rather than, “These desperate prayers of a cursed man.”

While the mix-up may have been a mistake, it also could have been intentional knowing Swift’s penchant for planting Easter eggs.
