Breaking:Brad Pitt slams Angelina Jolie’s ‘intrusive’ request to share his messages in ongoing winery lawsuit
In the ongoing legal battle over the sale of their former French winery, Château Miraval, Brad Pitt has responded strongly to Angelina Jolie’s latest legal maneuver. Jolie’s legal team has requested Pitt disclose third-party communications related to the 2016 family plane incident, which was a catalyst for their divorce.
Court documents reveal Pitt’s lawyers describing Jolie’s request as “wide-ranging and intrusive,” labeling it a “sensationalist fishing expedition.” They have petitioned for her motion to be denied, asserting that Pitt had already offered to provide sufficient documentation concerning the incident that led to their divorce.
According to Pitt’s legal team, Jolie rejected his compromise and proceeded to compel disclosure of Pitt’s communications with third parties, including discussions about therapy he undertook post-incident, allegations of alcohol and drug testing, and other personal matters.
Pitt’s lawyers argued that these private communications are irrelevant to the current dispute over the winery sale. They accused Jolie of attempting to re-litigate aspects of their divorce through what they deem as an unrelated business matter.
The court’s May ruling mandated Jolie to disclose eight years’ worth of non-disclosure agreements she has entered into. Pitt’s legal team has indicated that he previously offered to buy out Jolie’s shares in the winery, an offer she declined due to an NDA requirement.
The legal back-and-forth underscores lingering tensions in the aftermath of Pitt and Jolie being legally declared single by a judge in 2019. Despite ongoing negotiations, their divorce settlement remains unresolved, impacting their family dynamics involving their six children.
As the litigation continues, both sides are navigating through complex legal terrain amid efforts to reach a resolution in the lengthy divorce proceedings.
