Breaking:Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship survives due to one MAJOR reason, Chiefs coach Andy Reid explains
Andy Reid has offered his insights on why Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce work as a couple, with the Chiefs coach explaining that the relationship is an ‘escape’ for both of them.
Since they starting dating publicly last fall, Swift and Kelce have been fixtures at each other’s games and concerts respectively, and Reid believes they’ve both enjoyed being in the background at times.
‘He can handle it. I think there’s a great escape for him,’ Reid began on The Athletic’s ‘Scoop City’ podcast.
‘I initially mentioned to Tay, I was like, ‘How funny would it be if I just rolled out on one of the bikes during the 1989 [set]?’
Meanwhile, Swift fully embraced began a Chiefs fan after she and Kelce started dating.
She attended a whopping 13 games last season, including the Super Bowl as Kansas City repeated as NFL champions.
Kelce, 34, will return to the Chiefs for his 12th season after signing a new two-year, 34.25million deal this offseason.
There had previously been some speculation that he could hang up his cleats amid his high-profile relationship with Swift, and with his brother Jason, 36, retiring after a stellar career with the Eagles. ‘I said that about Taylor too. I mean, she comes to the game, she can kind of escape having to be the show. And when he goes to her concerts, she’s the star and he can be hanging out there and be the support or the waterboy.’
Travis has been following Taylor through Europe this offseason on her Eras Tour, with the Chiefs tight end even joining her onstage at Wembley Stadium in London. He was asked during an ongoing celebrity golf tournament near Lake Tahoe, Nevada if he’d be making another on-stage cameo, and opted to play coy.
‘I can’t let anything out of the bag,’ Kelce said from the American Century Championship. ‘But right now, I’m in full football mode after golf.’ While Kelce may not be joining Swift back onstage anytime soon, he discussed his cameo during a recent episode of his podcast, New Heights.
‘It’s very unlike me,’ Kelce told his brother, Jason. ‘I’m not big, I don’t like going on stages. There were a lot of people out there, really didn’t feel at home.’
He also explained how the performance came to be.
