Exclusive:Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Get Invites To Watch Kentucky Derby Winner Mystik Dan Following Jason Kelce’s Mess
This year’s Kentucky Derby winner, Mystik Dan, has garnered attention not only for its impressive victory but also for the notable attendees at the event, including Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Kelce, who found the Derby to be a “once-in-a-lifetime experience,” is eager for another taste of the best horse racing event. Kenny McPeek, Mystik Dan’s trainer, has extended a special invitation for Swift and Kelce to meet the celebrated horse in Baltimore before the Preakness Stakes, which is on May 18th.
In a post on X, McPeek addressed Jason Kelce, Travis’s brother, who is a former footballer, offering an exclusive glimpse into the world of horse racing. However, this invitation comes amidst earlier controversy involving Jason Kelce, who previously said that the legendary racehorse Secretariat was administered steroids during its iconic Triple Crown run in 1973. Despite this, McPeek’s invitation stands as a gesture of goodwill and an opportunity to foster understanding between the sports and horse racing.
Jason later issued an apology for his comment on May 9th, 2024. But it all started during a discussion on his “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce, Jason insinuated that Secretariat, whose records still stand as the fastest times in horse racing’s Triple Crown events, may have been administered steroids during its historic Triple Crown victory in 1973. However, following an online backlash, Jason expressed regret for his comments, acknowledging that it was unfair to make such assumptions without concrete evidence.
In his apology posted on X, Jason Kelce clarified that his intention was not to incite controversy but rather to discuss a prevalent issue of steroid use during the 1970s. He admitted to mistakenly assuming that this information was widely known and apologized for any offense caused. Jason recognized the importance of respecting historical achievements and refraining from unfounded allegations, particularly when it comes to iconic figures like Secretariat. “I’m sorry everyone, wasn’t trying to get people riled up, I really thought it was just known that in the 70s steroid use was rampant,” he said. Despite the controversy, Jason Kelce’s subsequent apology reflects a willingness to acknowledge and rectify his misstep in a public forum.
However, it’s worth noting that amidst a whirlwind year of notable achievements, including winning the Super Bowl and dating Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce also experienced the Kentucky Derby race with savage. His participation in the event, coupled with his bet on a horse, added an extra layer of excitement and significance to his already remarkable year.
