Jack Antonoff's fierce loyalty to Taylor Swift: "Challenging her songwriting is like challenging faith"

Jack Antonoff and Taylor Swift have a rock-solid bond that’s unbreakable. The 39-year-old record producer first crossed paths with the 34-year-old singer back in 2012, and they’ve been a dynamic duo ever since. In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Antonoff couldn’t help but gush about Swift’s exceptional songwriting skills. He made it clear that anyone who dared to challenge her talent was in for a world of trouble, stating, “You come after my friend Taylor, you’re toast to me.”

Their unwavering support for each other was put to the test when Damon Albarn suggested in an interview with the Times that Swift didn’t actually write her own songs. Antonoff wasn’t having any of it and swiftly fired back at Albarn, calling him a “herb” on Twitter

When asked about his fiery social media comebacks, Antonoff admitted, “I’m a little bitch sometimes.” But when it comes to defending Swift, he’s ready to go to battle. Questioning her songwriting, according to Antonoff, “is like challenging someone’s faith in God-it’s just not something you do.”

Swift also didn’t hold back in responding to Albarn’s claims. She took to Twitter to set the record straight, expressing her disappointment in Albarn’s comments and asserting, “I write ALL of my own songs.”

She didn’t mince words, making it clear that she found his remarks “completely false and SO damaging.” Albarn eventually issued an apology, acknowledging that his comments were “reduced to clickbait” and expressing his regret for attempting to discredit Swift’s songwriting.

Despite the occasional drama, Antonoff and Swift continue to collaborate on various projects. Notably, Antonoff played a pivotal role in Swift’s Grammy award-winning 2022 album “Midnights,” and they are also working together on the highly anticipated “Tortured Poets Department,” set for release on April 19.

Their partnership is a testament to their unwavering support for each other, both personally and professionally. As Antonoff put it, “You come after my friend Taylor, you’re toast to me.” It’s clear that these two have each other’s backs no matter what, and their creative synergy continues to produce chart-topping hits.
