Patrick Mahomes Impression Takes Internet by Storm—'Spot On'

Comedian Joey Mulinaro’s impression of Patrick Mahomes and his unique voice has the internet in hysterics. The 30-year-old appeared on the Up & Adams podcast on Tuesday, where he and host Kay Adams discussed Mahomes’ latest venture.

The quarterback is opening a restaurant with fellow Kansas City Chiefs’ star, Travis Kelce. Called 1587 Prime—a nod to players’ jersey numbers—the duo are partnering with hospitality chain Noble 33 to bring the steakhouse to Kansas City.

“Can you imagine Patrick Mahomes as your server?” Adams joked.

“I mean, sure, we just have a few specials tonight,” Mulinaro said, launching into his impression of the three-time MVP winner.

“I’m a big fan of the filet myself now. People say don’t to put A1 sauce or anything on it, ya know, just enjoy the juices from the steak, but I’m going to give it a little bit of a different appeal here to you.

“I’m going to suggest Hunt’s Ketchup. I’m a big ketchup guy. So a little ketchup over the filet mignon—big fan.”

Fans have previously remarked on Mahomes unusual manner of speaking. The three-time MVP winner was born and raised in Tyler, Texas, but his southern accent isn’t what draws attention.

The 28-year-old’s vocal register has previously been compared to Kermit the Frog from The Muppets and Kenny Powers, the fictional baseball player from the 2009 TV show Eastbound and Down.

However, Mahomes appears unbothered by the comments, describing his voice as “the joke that keeps giving.”

“People have been making fun of my voice for my entire life,” he said in 2023. “I’ve gotten used to it. It’s unique, so maybe I’ll get a deal from having that unique voice.”

Continuing his impersonation of Mahomes, Mulinaro then recommends ordering the steak medium rare—with ketchup, of course.

“Not a New York strip steak guy myself,” he continued. “I will tell you it’s a little secret of the menu, not New York strip, but I do enjoy fillet mignon, espe with a little bit of ketchup on there, Kay.”

Bursting into laughter, Adams said: “Oh my gosh you sounded just like him. If you were to close your eyes, it’s like I’m talking to 15 himself. Unbelievable.”

“This is Joey Mulinaro’s best work,” commented N. DeVita.

“Spot on. Very funny!” agreed Steve Cashman.
