The accident took place in the northeast of the city at 18:20 local time on Saturday, March 30. According to a police report, they are searching for the young NFL star.

Rice grew up in Texas in Fort Worth (32.9mi away from Dallas) and spent four years of NCAA college football playing in Dallas with Southern Methodist University before being picked in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, where he went on to become a Super Bowl champion. Although it’s unclear if he was driving the vehicle or if anyone has been hurt, Rice has not appeared in Dallas County jail as of 07:00 ET on Sunday, March 31. It’s also unknown if he is facing any charges, as per the Dallas Morning News.

Therefore, he does have a connection to the city and he could realistically be in the area, as he might be visiting his family during the offseason from football, but he has not yet been discovered by law enforcement. Standing at 6″1′ tall, Rice broke out as the Chiefs’ second top receiver last season with 79 receptions and 938 receiving yards showing a lot of favor from Patrick Mahomes, the side’s star quarterback.

He also led the team in touchdowns, going into the end zone on seven occasions and in the post season he made 26 receptions for 262 yards and a touchdown as he proved to be a very valuable and clutch asset for the organization. The Chiefs’ won Super Bowl LVIII with a 25-22 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in overtime, when Mahomes threw to Mercole Hardman for the season-ending play. Mahomes couldn’t actually believe his good fortune as the 49ers completely misunderstood the overtime rules, handing the advantage directly to the Chiefs.
