Swifties have been jumping to Taylor Swift’s defence after she was cruelly mocked for her dancing while she rocked out in the instrumental break of Fearless in Edinburgh.

Taylor Swift’s dancing skills have been mocked by critics, with fans quick to jump to the hitmaker’s defence, which comes ahead of her Cardiff show tonight.

The 34-year-old hitmaker, who is currently the most famous woman in the world, is enjoying a sparkling summer in Europe as she treats her fans to her sold-out Eras Tour. Currently in the United Kingdom, Taylor has performed in Scotland and Liverpool, with her still yet to take to the stage in Cardiff and London.

But some critics have been slamming Taylor for her dancing, with many saying her dancing skills are “cringe” with them getting “second hand embarrassment”. A clip from @harryalex98 on TikTok has gone viral of the singer shaking her hips at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh during the instrumental break of her hit Fearless.

Resharing the clip of Taylor dancing in her gold Fearless dress on Twitter, now known as X, one person said: “The second hand embarrassment… how can you stan this.”

But fans have since jumped to Taylor’s defence, with one saying: “God forbid she has fun on her own tour. That she sold out. With the songs that she wrote. About her life. On her worldwide sold-out, record breaking, high demand tour. Yeah you’re right. She should probably just awkwardly stand there instead. That’s a good way to celebrate eras.”

Another added: “The fact she’s not the best at dancing actually makes me stan her more and as a musician myself who eats up the stage every time but cannnot dance for sh– I’ve never felt more validated actually.”

A third then said: “what’s embarrassing is posting this and letting everyone know you hate seeing a successful woman enjoy herself on stage. god forbid she’s feeling herself in her sparkly dress.” While a further added: “remember it’s double standards forever, when male artists do their silly little dances during the concerts nobody cares but god forbid women having a bit of fun.”

While a fifth said: “haters gonna hate, she’s just gonna shake.” And a sixth person wrote: “I could actually watch this a million times. She’s literally the cutest human on the planet.”

This comes as Swifties in Wales gear up for The Eras Tour to take the Principality Stadium by storm tonight.
